15 ways to lose your database
Arguably an organisations most vital asset is its databases, often containing financial information, customer and employee data and intellectual property. There have been many articles written that examine the risks posed of data being exposed and the potential damage caused. In addition, external threats have long been recognised with billions of pounds spent strengthening defences to mitigate against them yet there is little acknowledgment of the very real threat from within. The statement ‘don’t leave your valuables on show’ is a simple principle so why is it often ignored by Europe’s Corporations?

Oracle and BCT Group Conclude Strategic Cooperation Agreement
The BCT Group, to which belong, among others, the parent company of BCT Guiding Documents (in the name of Mark Loos, General Director and Jos Bischoff, Operational Director) and OraVision (in the name of Peter Aarts, Director), have signed a strategic cooperation agreement on 16th April with Oracle Netherlands (in the name of Caroline Wouters, Benelux Director Alliances & Channel and Sacha Kok, Channel Manager). This agreement is the expression of the long-held wish of all parties to work together more closely.
In the words of Jos Bischoff, “The reason for incorporating Oracle’s UCM into our CORSA line is a rather logical one. We are seeing an increase in Oracle Fusion Middleware within (local) government and it’s clear from our perspective that this should be embraced in order to implement our CORSA solutions even more broadly in the field of government, especially now that UCM has been included in the Oracle Fusion Middleware platform.”
In the words of Hylke Visser, Director of Business Development, “The collaboration with the BCT Group ensures that our clients can count on the best of three worlds: BCT’s tried-and-true CORSA document solutions as well as its many years of practical document expertise, OraVision’s excellent Oracle expertise and Oracle’s globally leading products.”
In BCT Guiding Documents CORSA product line, the BCT Group embraces the Oracle ECM platform: Universal Content Management (UCM) for the purpose of further expanding its leading position in the field of document management in the Dutch governmental market and increasing market shares in the profit sector of the Dutch and European markets.
BCT Guiding Documents’ collaboration with OraVision and Oracle is not just an intention but is also being given shape by a mutual market approach and product development.
With this, OraVision’s excellent level of expertise in the Oracle platform and specifically in the field of UCM and integration will truly come into its own within the BCT group and will, among other things, be evident from Oracle’s ERP ‘document enabling’ and the CRM solutions being realised.
