Central Buying Consortium Re-awarded a Place KCS Procurement Services framework, to Sharp

KCS Procurement Services part of the Commercial Service Group completed a procurement on behalf of the CBC, an alliance of UK public sector organisations and has awarded a position on the framework to Sharp. The CBC lead on the provision of goods and services available to publicly funded bodies to access, including local government, education services, the care sector and the emergency services. Sharp has claimed the top spot on their framework since for the last 10 years, with the latest win ensuring another four years supporting the public sector. 

Sharp has announced that it has been re-awarded a place on the latest KCS Procurement Services framework, on behalf of the Central Buying Consortium (CBC), and has been appointed to provide organisations across the country with a full range of Multifunction Print Devices, Audio Visual technologies and Digital Transformation solutions.

Lexmark Reveals New A3 Printing Solutions

Lexmark a global imaging solutions provider  has launched a new range of A3 colour laser printers and smart multi-function products (MFPs), featuring nine new models

The Lexmark CS920 Series and the Lexmark CX920 Series claim to be Lexmark’s fastest printing and scanning devices, combined with a highert paper capacity:

The CX924 is a colour laser MFP  claiming up to 65 ppm whilst the CX920 Lexmark’s fastest scanner at up to 80 ppm both have a paper capacity of 6,650 sheets of paper.

Dion Weisler, who is poised to become the CEO of HP Inc. reported by USA CRN, the company's $57 billion printing and PC business business, is bringing together fashion designer glitterati for HP's eagerly anticipated foray into the 3D printing market in a glitzy New York press conference set for the evening of October 29, sources said.

Although a number of industry watchers had expected HP's first 3-D printer offering to be a commercial product, Weisler, who has already established a knack for taking HP into new directions by launching a phablet in India and pushing HP heavily into the Android market, is going to deliver a consumer 3-D printer product that can be used by creative artists and do-it-yourselfers (DIYers), sources said.

In its latest white paper, SMB Buying Considerations for Smarter Business Printing, sponsored by OKI Europe, IDC identifies that environmental considerations remain high on the agenda. Almost half (46%) of European SMBs who responded to IDC’s 2011 SMB Hardcopy survey identified energy use as of major concern. 

Almost two-thirds (61%) of SMEs have functionality such as duplex and reduced energy consumption firmly on their list of ‘must have’ features when purchasing print hardware, as part of a broader ‘green IT’ agenda. The majority of SMEs also recognise the importance of education and training in changing the behaviour of their employees if environmental gains are to be firmly embedded in the business.

Star Micronics announces the launch of the new SM-T300i mobile printer, the latest addition to its expanding range of mobile printers.

The SM-T300i has been developed in response to the rapidly growing demand for a mobile Bluetooth printer that is compatible with multiple operating systems (Windows^®, Android™, iOS). Unlike most printers available today, the SM-T300i can pair directly with the Apple iPad^®, iPhone^® and iPod Touch^®. Compatibility with iOS is a result of Star’s investment in Apple Inc.’s MFi (Made for iPhone, iPad, iPod) certification. The SM-T300i also supports the Bluetooth SPP protocol providing compatibility with other common operating systems with additional wired serial connection flexibility.

300 dpi TSC achieves a printing speed of eight IPS

TSC Auto ID Technology have introduced a new line of 6" thermal transfer label transfers to the market (TTP-268M/366M) in the first quarter of 2011 - at a price claimed to be well below that of the competition.

In particular the high-resolution, 300 dpi TTP-366M achieves a printing speed of eight IPS and TSC claim that it is as powerful as the usually more expensive high-end devices of leading manufacturers. The TTP-366M is ideally suitable for 2D barcodes, for small print and for graphics printing.

Many sectors, including industry, logistics and agriculture, today require wide labels with a size of six inches (15.24 centimetres). Since the print also has to remain legible under the most varied weather conditions, very high-resolution and simultaneously powerful thermal transfer printers are required. The high price of the usually high-end devices is, however, a barrier for many potential customers.

With the TTP-366M, TSC Auto ID Technology EMEA GmbH is launching an extremely powerful 6" thermal transfer printer on the market which offers high resolution, a printing speed of 8 IPS and an affordable price. The TTP-366M is above all suitable for demanding applications in which 2D barcodes, small print or graphics printing are required. Its "little brother in the line, the TTP-268M, prints with a resolution of 203 dpi at a speed of 6 IPS.
