5G innovation Secures £5m investment
5G innovation at the University of Surrey helps secure £5m investment to boost region-wide growth
The announcement today of Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) successful bid for £5m of Government funding to support innovation in 5G technology, as a key component of its regional growth plan, is warmly welcomed by the University of Surrey.
The funding, which is being made available over a five year period, supports future 5G growth across the region and recognises the University’s flagship project, the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC), as a key driver for economic growth in the region. Together with a consortium of industry partners including Aeroflex, AIRCOM International, BBC, BT, EE, Fujitsu, Huawei, Ofcom, Rohde & Schwarz, Samsung, Telefonica and Vodafone, the Centre conducts research into the development of advanced technologies for a 5G network of the future, to establish a world-leading position in mobile broadband communications and internet innovations.
Sachen e-Content UN-based World Summit Award
Das Team des UN-basierten World Summit Award freut sich, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, dass mit "Play Ludwig" und "Whatchado" gleich zwei Projekte aus Österreich einen World Summit Award gewonnen haben. Die Gewinner der World Summit Awards, einer internationalen und UN-gestützten Initiave zur Ermittlung des weltweit besten E-content , wurden im Rahmen von Jurysitzungen in Estlands Hauptstadt Tallinn ermittelt. Mit insgesamt zwei Siegerprojekten gehört Österreich offiziell zu den in Sachen e-Content stärksten Ländern überhaupt. Die Produzenten der Siegerprojekte werden nun die Möglichkeit haben, am 23. Oktober zum großen WSA Global Congress zu fliegen und ihre Projekte dort vor einem internationalen hochkarätigem Publikum zu präsentieren. English version below.........
