German Sales Executives Generally Earn 20% More in Europe

A survey carried out by leading IT and Telecoms Sales Recruiter, R.T. reveals that you can earn over 20% more if you sell IT products or services in Germany, compared with countries in Europe.

• German Sales Executives generally earn around 20% more than other Sales Executives in Europe for both basic and OTE salary.
• The average salary for Sales Executives placed by in Germany is €75K Basic and €150K OTE.
• Key Account Managers in Germany generally command 16% more than other Key Account Managers in Europe.
• The average salary for European Key Account Managers placed in Germany is €80K Basic and €160K OTE.
• IT Sales Executives and Key Account Managers based in the Netherlands and Scandinavia also earn considerably more than IT Sales Executives and Managers in other European countries.

 54% SAY SIZE DOES MATTER
R T, Also conducted a survey and concludes that 54% candidates have a definite idea about the size of the company they want to work for.
 
candidates who registered with R T  were asked  whether they wish to work for a small / start up, a medium sized company or a larger more established company.
• 54% of candidates had a very definite idea of what size of company they would like to work for.
• 31% said they were looking for a position within a large well established company.
• 14% were looking to get into a small company / start up.
• 10% wanted to work for a medium sized company.
• 45% were open on size.

VoiceObjects Appoints Two Industry Veterans to Board of Directors

George Schmitt, Managing Director, Telesoft, and Royston Hoggarth, Former CEO, Cable & Wireless, Join Board

George Schmitt is a managing director and SBIC director at TeleSoft Partners. He has more than 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Royston Hoggarth is the former chief executive officer of Cable & Wireless in the U.K., Europe and the U.S., and he is currently the chairman of iPSL and managing director at Strategic Capital Associates. He is also a venture partner with Wellington Partners VC in Germany and holds board positions with Axon Global Solutions, IGM, Intercede and ANT.

Banks comes to Webroot Software most recently from 2Wire where he was responsible for the rapid acceleration of 2Wires’ European business and expansion. His deep security and technology experience included tenure with CyberGuard, Computer Associates and Olivetti. Prior to that, he earned a commission in the Royal Marines as a 2nd Lieutenant.

ADAPTEC APPOINTS DISTRIBUTION SALES MANAGER

TO DRIVE GROWTH IN SOUTHERN EUROPE

Adaptec, Inc storage solutions, today announced the appointment of Daniel Hernandez to the position of distribution sales manager for Southern Europe. Hernandez will be responsible for growing Adaptec’s distributor revenues in France, Spain and Portugal. His role covers Adaptec’s entire product portfolio ranging from the industry’s first Unified Serial™ RAID controllers to its award-winning family of Snap Server™ network storage systems. Hernandez reports to Jared Peters, vice president of international sales, Adaptec.

Commenting on this appointment Peters said: “Daniel joins Adaptec at an important time. Intermec Appoints Ian George as EMEA Channel Director


Successful UK country manager promoted to overhaul Intermec's EMEA sales channel

Reading, Berks, 13 December 2007 - Intermec, the global provider of RFID, mobile computing and bar code technologies, has appointed Ian George as EMEA channel director. He is promoted to the position from his current highly successful role as Intermec's country manager in the UK.

As EMEA channel director, Ian George will be responsible for Intermec's pan-EMEA strategic channel direction and engaging with system integrators to further extend the company's high level of support to the channel. He will also draw on his extensive experience with printers and media, to lead and co-ordinate Intermec's printer and printer media business in EMEA.

In addition to business and margin growth, Ian George's priorities on taking up his new role at the beginning of 2008 will include elevating customer satisfaction and further improving services to channel partners.

 Nuxeo Appoints Steve Raby as UK Country Manager

Nuxeo, a  provider of Open Source ECM (Enterprise Content Management) solutions, has  announced the appointment of Steve Raby as UK Country Manager.

Raby brings to Nuxeo more than 25 years of sales and management within the IT industry. His appointment is an important milestone in Nuxeo’s global expansion plans. He will be responsible for sales and channel development in Nuxeo’s target sectors including media, financial services and energy.

Prior to JBoss, Raby spent more than 16 years at Sun Microsystems in various roles, most recently as Director, Partner Sales. In this role he managed a 60-strong team and delivered $600 million in revenue. He also managed the UK and Ireland channel.


Cellcrypt Announces Appointment of Simon Nestel as VP of Sales

Cellcrypt, a leading supplier of secure voice encryption software for all mobile communications has today announced the appointment of Simon Nestel as VP of Sales.  ADVA Optical Networking appoints
christian Unterberger chief Sales officer

ADVA Optical Networking has announced the appointment of Christian Unterberger to the position of Chief Sales Officer (CSO)

In this position, Christian Unterberger becomes a member of the ADVA Optical Networking executive management team. As CSO, he will enhance the company’s global sales strategy, including direct, reseller and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) distribution channels. In addition, he will expand the regional sales organizations to focus on selling to key accounts and developing market share via new customer and vertical segment targets. Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer Jürgen Hansjosten will continue to oversee daily global operational responsibility.

Christian Unterberger brings to ADVA Optical Networking extensive sales experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining ADVA Optical Networking, Christian Unterberger was appointed as head of the Service Core and Applications business at Nokia Siemens Networks, where primary responsibilities included managing the global activities of the unit. Before that, he was with Siemens Communications for 20 years, where he climbed through the ranks, holding sales and management positions of increasing responsibility, including positions overseeing Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. He concluded his career at Siemens Communications as president of the company’s global Fixed Networks business.


 Bluesocket appoints UK and Ireland Regional Manager Strengthened

Management Team Brings Business Development and Sales Expertise to International Markets.  Bluesocket,  has appointed Simon Allen as Regional Manager for UK and Ireland reporting to Worldwide VP Sales, Ann Doyle –  Simon joins Bluesocket from Cyclades where he worked as EMEA Channel Director and then, following acquisition, Avocent International. He has also held Channel Management positions at UUNET and is familiar with the dynamics of the UK and Ireland Channel market.

“I’ve been providing solutions supported by wireless networks since 1996. Recently, the historic challenges to enterprise adoption have been largely overcome and we are now entering the next phase of market acceptance where demand is booming,” says Simon Allen.

“As organisations face increasing competitive pressures, they are looking for ways to not only improve the productivity of their workforce (ie increased revenues), but also decrease the costs of doing business. Zycko has expanded its global offices to Italy and Benelux,
with further plans for Sweden, Spain and a second German office in Munich 

  Piera Loche has been appointed managing director of Zycko Italy, based in Milan, while Mabel de Vries is the managing director of Zycko Benelux, based in Amsterdam.  Piera Loche established Zycko Italy in September 2007.  She has worked for Algol, a primary Italian distributor, from 1996 – 2007.  Piera has also held various positions with Azlan Italy, working as enterprise division director, developing and supporting the Networking business into a volume distributor.

Mabel de Vries established Zycko Benelux in September 2007.  She has spent the past 20 years in the IT arena.  Mabel has held various senior and international positions as Managing Director of Landis France, Vice President Alliances for Landis Group, Business Unit Manager at Ingram Micro, European Sales Director for Telecity (International Datacenter provider) and Channel Manager Northern Europe for Madge Networks.

 Each new office will be taking to market the core of Zycko’s key solutions including Hitachi’s storage, Riverbed’s point to point network acceleration and Isilon’s clustered storage systems, software for digital content and unstructured data.
