Channel Veteran Returns to Join Blue Coat
Blue Coat Systems, an enterprise security company ,have announced it has strengthened its organisation with the appointment of Kurt Mills. Mills has been named vice president, worldwide channel sales and operations and is charged with building and upgrading the company’s channel programs to drive revenue growth and extend Blue Coat’s market penetration.
The addition of Mills follows the appointment of Michael Fey as president and COO. These new executives are part of the company’s efforts to drive revenue growth and build on Blue Coat’s position in the secure web gateway segment to adjacent security markets.
Blue Coat has experienced strong growth in the enterprise security market over the last three years, fueled by its expanded offerings for advanced threat defense.
Mills is re-joining Blue Coat at a time when the company is experiencing rapid growth and channel partners are benefiting from the momentum and broader product offering. As vice president, worldwide channel sales and operations, Mills will focus on building, expanding and deepening strategic channel relationships and ensuring that Blue Coat partners are successful.
Reporting to Marc Andrews, Blue Coat senior vice president of worldwide field operations, Mills is responsible for field and channel partner-facing business operations and collaborating on strategy.
Prior to returning to Blue Coat, Mills was vice president of channel sales with Aerohive Networks where he developed its channel program structure, teams, systems and channel routes to market. Mills has over 25 years channel sales experience and has held executive channel management positions with Websense and McAfee.

Blue coat will be dealing with channel partners, dealers and European resellers in EMEA and resellers in USA providing on-premise, hybrid and cloud-based solutions for protecting web connectivity, combating advanced threats and resolving security breaches so it will be of interest to European Hosting as well
