How Things Have Changed, I Will Use My Microsoft Mobile To Skype Call You

Microsoft has now officially buried the Nokia brand name with the launch of the Lumia 535, a low-end Windows 8.1 Phone aimed at the emerging markets with the Microsoft name on the back.

As their first launch into this market, rather than debuting the new management ( Microsoft) with a bold new flagship phone, Microsoft is sticking to the tried-and-tested Lumia formula,  bold colours, basic internals, and a low price point. Supposedly aimed at  Russia,India and China at the top of the list, and later Africa and Europe.

Priced at about $140 in the US, ( estimated at £87.50 GBP’s or € 110 Euros) although I understand this will not be offered in America and no official prices are suggested in the other countries.

You get a five-inch 960 x 540 screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and 1GB of RAM, all wrapped in a colourful (and removable) shell. There's also a 5-megapixel camera that Microsoft is touting for its Skype service.

Pre-installed Office suite and OneNote – to access, edit and share Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and OneNote notebooks anywhere.

15GB of free OneDrive cloud storage to save and sync your media across devices.

Experience a truly personal virtual assistant with Cortana on hand to anticipate your needs and make tailored suggestions.

Built in Microsoft Outlook to connect with work and personal e-mails while on the go.

A 5 inch qHD display to showcase photos and videos or get even more productive with Office.

Comes in a Dual SIM variant for maximum travel flexibility
