Jane Doorly Joins IDC as Vice President, European Research, for the ICT Vendor and End-user Communities
IDC is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jane Doorly to the position of Vice President, European Research. In this role, Doorly will provide support around specific initiatives and programs for both our vendor and Insights research businesses, including the management of IDC's European software business, and contributing to the development of a European IT security research practice."Jane Doorly is one of the most widely known and respected Europe-based analysts in the ICT industry," said Steven Frantzen, Senior Vice President for Research and Consulting, IDC EMEA. "Her extensive and long-term expertise and deep understanding of this business will further enhance IDC's leading position among ICT vendors. Her specialist knowledge will also strongly complement IDC's long-term investments and strategic worldwide focus on the IT user business."
Dr. Doorly has over 20 years of industry experience, most recently as Group Vice President for the Global Information Security, Privacy and Compliance Group at Gartner. Prior to this, Doorly managed Gartner's global hardware research, and Dataquest's European research, having started her career as a high performance computing analyst. Doorly also worked in high tech aerospace research, and for a management consultancy, as well as a high performance parallel computing start up.
Doorly has an MA in maths and a doctorate in engineering science from the University of Oxford, as well as an ARCM from the Royal College of Music.
