Toshiba adds a large-screen version to its Satellite C series
Toshiba Computer Systems, a division of Toshiba Europe GmbH, have introduced the Satellite C670 / C670D complementing its no-frills portfolio with this laptop with a large screen. The 43.9cm (17.3'') laptop satisfies everyday computing needs within an entry-level price range. The Satellite C670, featuring an Intel® CPU, and the AMD powered C670D will be available from March 2011 in Europe, Middle East and Africa.Desktop replacement for standard consumers
Offering a large 43.9cm (17.3'') display, the Satellite C670 / C670D is the ideal ‘desktop replacement laptop’ for users who primarily work and play at home and who do not see mobility as a key requirement. Thanks to its affordable price, Toshiba’s Satellite C series laptops give users on a limited budget everything they need for a good computing experience. There’s no need to compromise with this affordable range supporting e-mail, web-browsing, social networking (inc. web chat) plus standard office applications and basic multimedia entertainment
.
The Satellite C670 offers an ergonomic, flat keyboard with an integrated 10-digit numeric keypad that helps users to work well with figures e.g.: spreadsheets, and it also facilitates gaming. If users need to control a character, the numeric keypad allows for diagonal movements which are ruled out with arrow keys only. In addition, the large touchpad with multi-touch control provides for comfortable scrolling while the embedded web camera with Toshiba Face Recognition enables log-in without typing a password. The laptop’s high-capacity hard disk drive, of up to 750 GB, offers enough space to store plenty of photos, music tracks, videos and documents.
Connecting to the digital world with
Two USB 2.0 ports and a super-fast Bluetooth® 3.0 interface with a data rate of up to 24 Megabits per second - which is about ten times faster than USB 2.0 - allow connection with peripheral devices such as camcorders, external hard disk drives or smartphones. The WLAN interface provides easy access to wireless home networks and the Web.
Robust design with two colour variations
The robust design further enhances the attractive price vs. performance ratio of the new Satellite C670 series. The textured finish on the palm rest and the display cover is highly scratch-resistant and makes fingerprints less visible. Users can choose between two colour variations: the Satellite C670 and the C670D will be available in black, plus black with a white finish on the LCD cover and inside.
